SOME OBSERVATIONS ON THE SEVEN EDITIONS OF “THE FISH PRIMER” BY DR. PETAR BERON

Abstract

The publication aims to present new observations on the seven editions of Dr. Petar Beron’s “Fish Primer”, printed before the Liberation of Bulgaria. Placed in the context of the Bulgarian Revival book printing, Beron’s textbook testifies to connections and influences that have not been within the scope of focused analysis and comparisons until now. In the course of the presentation, borrowings from texts, compilations and updates characteristic of Bulgarian Revival literature are commented on.
