Abstract

The text is a review of the bibliographic index “Book Publishing in Ruse, 1864–1944”, published by the Regional Library “Lyuben Karavelov”. A chronicle of the books printed in the city for the indicated period, the index outlines the development of literary culture, documents, through book publishing, the educational efforts of the local intelligentsia, traces, through the cultural, scientific and literary achievements in the regional context, the civilizational growth of the Bulgarian society.
