CENSOR-LIBERAL NIKOLAI FEDOROVICH VON KRUSE (ACCORDING TO ARCHIVAL MATERIALS)

Abstract

On the basis of previously little-studied archival documents, the activities of the censor of the Moscow Censorship Committee “N. F. Kruse” are considered. The analysis of these materials makes it possible to clarify the role of Kruse in the formation of liberal sentiments of the Russian intelligentsia in the first years of the reign of Emperor Alexander II.
