THE ROLE OF THE LOCAL PUBLICATIONS ABOUT THE MINERAL SPRINGS AND BATHS IN BULGARIA UNTIL 1947 IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND POPULARIZATION OF THE NATIVE COMMUNITIES

Abstract

The article focuses on poorly researched books by local historians about the mineral springs and baths in Bulgaria until 1947. The author reviews some of the books – valuable sources of information about the healing properties Петър Величков 47 of mineral waters. The editions track the construction of new baths or the improvement of existing ones. The photographic content in these publications is valuable evidence today, as some of these old buildings are either abandoned, demolished, or left to decay. Their architecture is among the most characteristic of the Kingdom of Bulgaria. The author points out that these monographs have been neglected over the years. He indicates that compiling a bibliography that includes topic-related books and articles would play a significant role for the researchers.
